  16.      Welcome to the Shareware revolution.  This remarkable method of 
  17.      software distribution was co-pioneered in 1982 by Jim Button and 
  18.      Andrew Fluegelman.  It has become a major force in the computer 
  19.      industry, helping to reduce software prices and eliminate copy 
  20.      protection schemes.

  22.      You are encouraged to copy the TakeNote Shareware diskette(s) and 
  23.      share them freely with others.  Please make copies of your 
  24.      original diskettes rather than copying the installed program so 
  25.      the Install program is included.  You have the luxury of trying out 
  26.      the complete programs, at your own pace and in the comfort of your 
  27.      own home or workplace.  This is not a disabled or demo copy, but 
  28.      the complete fully-functional working version of the program.

  30.      After you have used TakeNote for a reasonable evaluation period (not 
  31.      to exceed 50 uses) you must either stop using it or buy a licensed 
  32.      copy from ButtonWare or from an authorized dealer.

  127.      If you did not purchase TakeNote (complete with printed manual) 
  128.      directly from ButtonWare or from an authorized dealer, then you are 
  129.      evaluating the program.

  131.      We have tried to provide you with everything necessary to evaluate 
  132.      TakeNote.  The program uses clear, informative menus.  Help screens 
  133.      are always available.  
  134.  
  135.      This is sufficient for most people to evaluate the program. However, 
  136.      some people prefer to have a copy of the printed manual. 
  137.      
  138.      Note that there are no pretty screen pictures in the disk manual 
  139.      since that isn't possible in a text file that will print on all 
  140.      printers.  It is approximately 75 pages long so make sure you have
  141.      enough paper in the printer when you are ready to print.

  143.      To keep costs down, the on-disk documentation is not included with 
  144.      purchased copies of TakeNote and cannot be bought directly from 
  145.      ButtonWare.  Purchased copies include complete printed User's 
  146.      Manuals, typeset and bound, which includes screen shots and more 
  147.      examples.

  149.      After you have installed the program, the documentation is a Windows 
  150.      Write file called TAKENOTE.WRI.  You can view this document with a 
  151.      Write or choose File Print to print the file to your default Windows 
  152.      printer.

  164.      *  The manual for TakeNote describes Windows dialog boxes for 
  165.         Windows 3.0.  Some of those dialogs have changed with 
  166.         Windows 3.1.  
  167.     
  168.      *  TakeNote requests a specific font from Windows.  If it does not 
  169.         find it, it will try to find another font the same size.  If it 
  170.         can't find it, usually it has either been deleted or over-written 
  171.         by a font of the same name.  When TakeNote can't find the font, 
  172.         it looks for a different font that is the same size and uses 
  173.         that.  If it doesn't find a font the same size, it uses the last 
  174.         font on the list.  In some cases this is Dingbats which makes 
  175.         your screen unreadable.  To force TakeNote to use a different 
  176.         font, you can go to the Windows Control Panel, Fonts selection.  
  177.         Remove the font that is causing the problem.
